Debra Leigh, founder and innovator of Brighter Voice specialises in coaching and mentoring business clients to achieve high level presentation and communciation skills, in order to enhance their everyday working lives. This, together with accent softening where required, forms the basis of her preferred method of study. She has an MA in Voice Studies from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, having studied under the guidance of Jane Boston. She is also a Master Practitioner of NLP, working from a holistic standpoint as a coach and facilitator. As a voice coach her clients include doctors, academics, journalists, politicians, lawyers, bankers, authors, artists and the clergy; and her client list is extensive, including Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, UBS, Deutsche Bank, the Foreign Office (FCO), Ashridge Business School, EBRD, EY and RNUAL.

She runs a private voice practice in London near Liverpool Street and delivers workshops in house as required, as well as delivering individual training over Skype. She also provides training in voice over and microphone technique.

As a regular trainer over the past 6 years for the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, she works predominantly in the business and academic sectors, creating and delivering bespoke training programmes for Masterclass workshops on a whole range of communication topics. These include Increasing Impact, Pitching and Presentation, Presenting with Charisma, Impact and Influence, Courageous Conversations, Storytelling and the Creative Communicator. She also works with individual clients seeking change in their style of impact, through developing their voice & commmunication strategy. Her recent client list includes Imperial College, the BBC, FDA, Accenture, Louis Vuitton, Eulogy, Marks & Spencer, LTA, JTP and Babcock International.

Debra has hosted Voice Over Workshops and Radio Drama Workshops for the MA Voice course and BA Musical Theatre course and ran Central's ‘Voice for Performance Course' for several years with colleague Carol Noakes. She also coaches at City Lit.

Carol Noakes is a specialist voice coach, with wide experience in developing clients’ skills in presentations and public speaking, team communication and confidence-building - with groups and individuals. Her role is to develop your presence, credibility, persuasive power and confidence.

She works with clients in business, the media, education, government and the arts, and at all levels of organisations, from entry to executive performance. She also enjoys working with groups in education on confident speaking and voice for performance, and as a lecturer in voice and text with trainee actors.

As a voice coach in theatre and television, projects include: ‘Shameless’ and ‘Skins’ - Channel 4, ‘The Jury’ - BBC and ‘The Worst Witch’ - Granada Television, and productions at Contact Theatre, Manchester Royal Exchange and the New Vic, Stoke.

She also works with the wider remit of communication in business, delivering programmes for management and leadership development, performance management, interview skills and diversity, incorporating forum theatre and applied improvisation.
